Local filmmaker, Inderveer Sodhi, uses the form of film to explore issues pertaining to youth violence – and more specifically, gang violence – prevalent in Surrey. The film follows a coming-of-age young man Harman’s turbulent life after losing his best friend. Deep, insightful, thought-provoking and cinematographically brilliant, Monster is a film that brings light to the complex, multi-faceted and controversial problem of youth violence in Surrey.
