If you’ve heard of Gully Gang out here in Mumbai, two sisters all the way in Calgary, Canada, have got their Goonda Gang. Bhagya Ramesh (Eboshi) and Priya Ramesh (Contra) are Cartel Madras, breathing in no-holds-barred rap rhymes and some much-needed cultural representation in Canada’s hip-hop circuit.

With the release of their first EP Project Goonda Part 1: Trapistan in July last year, Cartel Madras stomped into any club with their grime and trap-leaning bangers. The day is not far that they’ll release a proper Tamil rap song, but even that’s likely going to be about taking names and kicking ass.
